The busy harbour of Bodrum is bursting at the seams with yachts and gulets of all sizes, with easy access to the town centre it is one of the main yacht charter commencement points in south west Turkey. Cafes, shops and restaurants line the streets and promenade and offer the visitor the widest range of food, clothing, jewellery, footwear and beachwear, for shopping Bodrum is second only to Marmaris in this corner of the world.

The harbour entrance is dominated by the Castle of St. John of Rhodes which still feels to be offering its protection to the citizens and visitors, though it has been a while since the castle bore any arms.

Classified as a port of entry, Bodrum sees many ferries and trip boats from the nearby Greek islands, each carrying visitors and residents who are there mainly to undertake of the lively trade which has been carried out for centuries.
