Charter Guide

Chartering a luxury yacht, especially for a first time charterer, can be a daunting undertaking, here at East Med Yachting our aim is to take the stress and worry out of booking a yacht, reaching the embarkation point and indeed throughout the whole charter.

Our professional and friendly team of charter brokers are just a phone call or email away to give advice on individual yachts, nearest airports, hotels in the vicinity and places to visit or just general information on your area of choice.

Everyone within our team has intimate knowledge of the areas we cruise in and the yachts we offer for charter.

Typically here’s how the charter process works:-

Step 1
Browse the portfolio of yachts on our website, choose from yacht type, cruising area, length, price or number of guests until you find the ideal yacht for you and your party.

Step 2
Use the “Quick Enquiry” button on the page of your chosen yacht to send an automatic enquiry on that specific vessel. Give as little or as much information as you like and we will get back to you if we need more detail.

-OR-
Fill out the VIP search at the foot of the home page to receive information on more than one single yacht, please give as much information as possible when using this method.

Step 3
We will send a response to your enquiry, if we need more information we will ask you a few relevant questions before providing you with availability and price on the yacht/yachts of choice along with a brief breakdown of what is and isn’t included in the price. Should you need any further information or detail at this point please do not hesitate to get in touch either be phone or email.

Step 4
At this stage make sure that you can obtain flights and if necessary hotels to be able to make the embarkation and disembarkation ports on the dates we have offered.

-Alternatively-
Ask us to research the flights and land based accommodation for you.

Step 5
Once you are happy with the yacht, the price and any inclusions/exclusions you can verify by email and we will take out an option on the yacht and issue a contract (either MYBA or EMT see “Contracts Explained”) for you to sign and return.

Part of the contract will be the deposit sum which will be notified to you in the contract. Please note that as some of our yachts are offered by other brokers we cannot fully guarantee the charter booking until the deposit has been received.

Step 6
Reserve your flights and any hotel accommodation required.

Step 7
Further interim payments and/or the final payment will become due usually at least 4 weeks prior to your embarkation.

If the charter has been booked less than 4 weeks prior to embarkation then the full amount will be due.

Step 8
Over and above the charter fee, you will need to pay the Advance Provisioning Allowance (see “APA Explained”).

Step 9
At least 3 weeks prior to your arrival we will ask you to fill out a Preference Sheet, here you will need to fill out full details of all the guests, date of birth, addresses and Passport numbers so the Captain of your yacht can complete the manifest. Flight number and times can be notified on the preference sheet.

There are also sections which ask about your choice of food and drink, any medical conditions special requests and the like, please give as much information as possible, the more we know about your likes and dislikes the easier it is to tailor the charter to exactly meet your expectations.

Step 10
Ensure you have your transfers in place or ask us to arrange transfers for you.

Arrive and enjoy.

Immediately prior to embarkation you will be met by one of our charter operations managers who will escort you to your yacht, run through any last minute questions you may have and leave you in the capable hands of the captain and crew.
