Zakynthos or Zante is home to one of the most photographed scenes in the world, Navagio Beach or Shipwreck Cove at the north west corner of Zakynthos. White sand, blue sea and high cliffs make the cove a perfect background setting for the wreck of a smuggling vessel which went aground in 1981.
The island is well known for its flora having over 7,000 species of flowers; it is also the breeding grounds of caretta caretta sea turtle and monachus monachus seal.
