Marmaris is a smidgeon behind Bodrum in the sophistication stakes but makes up for this by offering the greatest array of nightlife, bazaars, boutique shops, cafes and restaurants with the splendid backdrop of the bay of Marmaris. It is said that in New York the city never sleeps, Marmaris doesn’t quite live up to this but it can be said that Marmaris merely takes a short nap overnight.
The marble paved promenade is one great big showcase for yachts, gulets and day trip boats at one side and a myriad of restaurants and shops the other.
