Alonissos, white houses, blue sea could describe many Greek islands but no other has the profligacy of white houses or the variations of blue that belong to Alonissos. The south coast from Patitiri, the main town and harbour, running to the east is literally peppered with coves and bays of outstanding beauty, awaiting a yacht to take ownership of its own private bay for a night or two. It can be known for one of the local inhabitants, the monk seal, to put in an appearance.
